Material

As we offer the best organic and sustainable classic fashion pieces it is our mission to collaborate with innovating technology companies developing non-toxic plastic free plant-based textiles so that by EOY 2025 all our vegan leather products are tailored in plant-based plastic-free sustainable & biodegradable textiles.

We are in total alignment with the campaigns of the United Nations Environment Programme to #beatplasticpollution

We began in 2012 with outerwear for vegans tailored in cruelty-free vegan leather. The textile available then called faux or vegan leather was traditional polyurethane or PU. Basically, plastic - huge destroyer of our environment and harmful to workers.

In the decade since innovators around the world have been working hard to find sustainable textile substitutes for PU. Most focussed on creating leather-look textile with plant and natural material.

The wide focus on sustainability for the sake of the planet has centred around 3 words: reduce, reuse, recycle.

When a textile is a toxic as leather-look PU we are of the view that the important 'R' words are REMOVE and REPLACE and RID.

A global all-stakeholder project to remove or stop the making of the synthetic textile and replace it with a synthetic textile that ticks the boxes but leaves out toxicity. Don't reuse or recycle the toxic textile or reduce the use of it in textiles like partially plant-based vegan leather but rid the planet of it. Major contribution to reducing emissions and meeting IPCC goals by 2030 and 2050.

To do our bit we have not used PU, PVC or PVB or any textile containing PU for the last few years to make vegan leather apparel or accessories.

Washable Paper Vegan Leather

Another innovative textile now available and being utilised for our bag collection is Washable Paper Vegan Leather.

Washable paper vegan leather is a plant-based textile crafted to have the look of leather. For accessories it's a great offering. Because they can be washed and restored to their original condition, they are ideal for carrying make-up and other messy items.

Organic Textiles

We are now offering a range of products that are tailored only in organic textiles. No synthetics that contain plastic. We have apparel in 100% GOTS certified cotton and denim. Accessories in cork, straw, jute and more.

Hemp Organic Textile

Hemp organic textile refers to a type of fabric made from the fibers of the stalks of the Cannabis sativa plant that has been grown and processed using organic farming methods.

Certified Organic Cotton

It's estimated that it takes organic cotton uses 91 per cent less water to grow than regular cotton and a lot of the water used in organic cotton is rainwater and water stored in the soil.

Cork Leather Textile

Cork leather fabric, also known as cork fabric or cork "leather," is a type of textile material made from the bark of the cork oak tree. The process of making cork leather involves stripping the outer bark layer from the cork oak tree, which is a sustainable and eco-friendly practice as the tree can regenerate its bark.

Bamboo

Bamboo fabric is a type of textile made from the pulp of the bamboo plant. The process of making bamboo fabric involves crushing bamboo stalks and leaves to extract cellulose, which is then spun into fibers to make yarn.

Organic Denim

Denim is a sturdy wrap-faced textile traditionally made with 100% cotton. It derives its diagonal ribbing texture that is distinguishable from cotton by the twill-weaving procedure where the weft - which is 1 thread of unbleached yarn - is passed under 2 or more warp threads - which is dyed cotton yarn. Hence the denim fabric shows the blue or black or whatever dyed colour on the surface while the inside colour is white only.
